MORSE In Memoriam PART 8: Actors Who Appeared in the EIGHTH SERIES (5 SPECIALS) and Have Since Passed Away.

Hello everyone. I hope you and your families are well.

It looks like it is definitely going to be the end of next week before my mum is cremated. Due of course to the high number of deaths.

I am doing my best to distract myself and one of those distractions was to create this video.

A huge thank you for all the support you have shown you wonderful people. You are all a credit to the Morse Universe.

This video covers the five specials that have been lumped together as series eight. The five specials were between 1995 and 2000: The Way Through the Woods, The Wench is Dead, Daughters of Cain, Death is Now my Neighbour and The Remorseful Day.

I have started my own Facebook page. It is primarily an extension of this website. I decided to start the Facebook page as there has been times when I have an update to a review post or some interesting news or information but it was all to small to make into a full blown post here on my website. So, come and join and keep up-to-date with all that happens in the Morse universe.

I would like to say a huge thank you to those who have become Patrons of the site and also a huge thank you to those who have made donations. What do I mean by Patrons?

What is Patreon? Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy for artists and creators to get paid. It’s a membership platform that provides business tools for creators to run a subscription content service, with ways for artists to build relationships with their subscribers, or “patrons”.

With Patreon you set up how much you wish to pay monthly. There are three tiers, $5, $10 and $15. It’s like paying for a magazine subscription.

Patreon primarily uses Paypal which is easy to join and a safe way to send money. https://www.paypal.com/uk/home

At last but not least please think about buying my book on the Lewis TV series.

Author: Chris Sullivan

Up until a few years ago I was my mum's full time carer. She died in, 2020, of Covid. At the moment I am attempting to write a novel.

  1. Thank you for doing this, Chris! Much appreciated.
And may God enfold your dear mother in His loving arms… requiescat in pace, Amen.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this. So sorry about the delay in your mother’s cremation. I’m enjoying the Lewis book so much. Take care — Sue

  3. Thank you for making the video, Chris. Nice to have you back, by the way. All the best.

  4. Thank you Chris, for creating these series of videos, portraying the sad passing, of many actors and actresses, who did so much to contribute, to the great series that was, Inspector Morse. Even though you say that this post is a distraction for you, it must perhaps, have been a little difficult for you, given recent personal circumstances, so thank you for still completing this set of Morse videos. It is interesting, but also rather sad, to find out, that quite a number of individuals, who certainly played their part in Morse history, passed away, well before their time. The most well known of these, unfortunately, was of course, the star of the show himself, John Thaw. It is thus very noble of you Chris, to attempt to ensure that these good people, are not forgotten.

I should have perhaps, said this before Chris, after you kindly acknowledged my long e-mail a few weeks ago, which I then replied to, adding a little bit of humour, that you hopefully received. This was before, I had learnt of your mother’s positive test for the dreaded virus, and then the terrible news that followed, two weeks later. What I am trying to say is, please take as much time you need, there is no rush whatsoever, to reply in depth, point by point, to my detailed e-mail. You must have so much on your plate, during this troublesome and heartbreaking period, so I do not expect to hear back from you, about this matter, for some considerable time. Thanking you for all the work you do on your website. All my best wishes to you, and your family, during this distressing period.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comments in regard to my mum’s passing and my series of videos. Thank you also for your continued delightful comments on this website

  5. Thank you Chris, for taking the time to read all my remarks, and I’m glad you enjoy reading them. I hope my comments provide some further insight, to your already excellent and informative website. It’s good to hear from you this week, and thank you for so very kindly replying. Anyway, that is enough from me, for now. All the best to you.

  6. The loss of family member is a grievous one, especially when that family member is your mother. Thank you for taking the time to expand our appreciation of Morse by taking the time andntrouble to identify the music that occurs throughout the series. Needless to say l have appreciated the efforts you and your fellow fans have made to trace locations, pictures and paintings, illuminating the scenes throughout the series.
This was indeed a very sad episode as you knew before before it started it was to be the final Morse.😢😥😢😥
