Hello everyone. Sadly, I have to report on another death in the Morse Universe; Barbara Leigh-Hunt. Barbara Leigh-Hunt played Blanche Copley-Barnes, a piano teacher, in the 1990 Inspector Morse episode titled “The Infernal Serpent”.
Barbara was born on 14 December 1935, in the city of Bath. She died on the 16th September 2024 (age 88 years). Barbara’s working life in TV and film started in 1954 and she worked up until 2004.
Her formidable performance as Blanche Copley-Barnes is memorable and a highlight of the Morse episode, The Infernal Serpent. She was married to Richard Pasco who starred in the Morse episode, Dead on Time as William Bryce-Morgan. Richard died in 2014.

I’m sure fans of the Morse series thoughts will be with Barbara’s family and friends. Thank you Barbara for being part of the Morse Universe and making it a better place.
Below is a video of Barbara’s best scenes in the Morse episode.
Please consider buying my comprehensive 600 page book on the Endeavour series. https://shorturl.at/7E5Hf

Such a beautiful speaking voice. That key opening scene is beautifully done by all 3 actors.
May she rest in peace.
Lovely, gifted actress. My best wishes to her family. She will be missed.
Sad to hear that. 😢
