The link below is my review of the episode CONFECTION. My review of course includes information on locations, music (though some music may be different to what was used in the US and Australia due to copyright), literary references and much, much more.

If anyone is aware of any scenes missing from the US broadcast that were in the UK version please let me know and I will create a post with the missing scenes.

I hope you enjoy the review and feel free to comment on what you agree and disagree with in my review.

Enjoy.

What is Patreon? Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy for artists and creators to get paid. It’s a membership platform that provides business tools for creators to run a subscription content service, with ways for artists to build relationships with their subscribers, or “patrons”.

With Patreon you set up how much you wish to pay monthly. There are three tiers, $5, $10 and $15. It’s like paying for a magazine subscription.

Patreon primarily uses Paypal which is easy to join and a safe way to send money. https://www.paypal.com/uk/home

  1. My husband said it was hard to follow that story it went so fast. We don’t know yet if we in the US have any missing scenes or not.

  2. Chris/Barbara – the Brights dinner scene was definitely truncated. I remember Mrs B mentioning she went to visit “Julian and his wife” in London. That’s why the scene where Bright/Max in in Max’s Club was so sad when Max suggested that particular doctor and Bright said he was already her specialist. I remember watching that and thinking, wait, didn’t she just see him? And then Bright confirmed it with that sorrowful performance. It made it so much more devastating; truly, the nuances are being ripped out of the PBS broadcasts – very frustrating!

  3. Another truncated scene may be Morse’s conversation/interview with Sarah Clamp after Bucephalus was put down by Dr Sheppard. Wasn’t there masses of comments by those “in the know” about putting down a horse in a stall with a narrow opening to the stable? Logistically, I agree it would be extremely difficult to get the beast out. I understand privacy and all that but wouldn’t they have a small private courtyard in the back to deal with that so they can pull up a horsebox or a cart after? Shouldn’t Russell Lewis and his team think of stuff like that? They could’ve still set the Morse/Clamp scene nearby just as well. Weird.

  4. Last year when I bought from Amazon prime once the show had been broadcast, the full episode could be downloaded. This year, not, everything Masterpiece is the versions without the missing parts.

An odd thing happened to our broadcast though which I thought was a missing part, but apparently not. Our screen went totally black at the chocolate factory when the gentleman was in the vat. The sound was still there, something happened to their film apparently. Having bought the series [again, hoping for missing scenes but being disappointed in that] I did find out that that was not cut, and have now seen the whole scene with the chocolate bubbling.

Still not quite sure why the vet’s daughter had to murder so MANY. [or cause the murders of so many]. which one was the father of her child anyway?
