John Thaw and Dennis Waterman in advert for Chocolate (1980s)

I came across this recently uploaded blast from the past. I had completely forgotten John Thaw had appeared in this advertising campaign by Cadburys. The campaign also included many other TV pairings of the late seventies and early eighties, most probably only known to those in the UK; Mel Smith and Gryff Rhys Jones (British comedians);  Paul Eddington and Nigel Hawthorne (Yes Minister, TV sitcom);  Simon Cadell, and Ruth Madoc (Hi De Hi, TV sitcom) and many others. Hope you enjoy this little bit of TV history.

Up until a few years ago I was my mum's full time carer. She died last year of Covid. I am now about to start my third year year at Edinburgh University studying for a second degree this one being English Literature. My other degree is in Ecological Science. At the moment I am attempting to write a novel.

    1. Hi Nan. The Sweeney is an excellent TV series but it is a very different progam from Morse and John Thaw’s character in The Sweeney is the polar opposite of Morse. There are some episodes on Youtube.
