Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new post. As the title of the post states, this is the second post about my latest trip to Oxford.

Last night, Wednesday 26th October, I streamed live from Oxford on Twitch. I am planning to edit that video and post it here on the website.

I hope you enjoy the photos and videos below. Take care.

The above photo is taken from Queen’s Lane. The college in the background is All Souls College. Queen’s Lane has been utilised in the Morse, Lewis and Endeavour series.

The above photo is the front quad of St Edmund Hall. St Edmund has only been used four times in the Morse Universe; Deguello and Girl ferom the Endeavour series, The Lions of Nemea and Wild Justice (Lewis).

The above is Nuffield College. This college has only been used as a location in one episode in the Morse Universe; Fat Chance. (Morse).

The above video is Worcester College. This college has only been used as a location in three episodes in the Morse Universe. Two from the Morse series, Deadly Slumber and Last Bus to Woodstock. And one episode in the Lewis series, Fearful Symmetry. The most famous scene for this college is from Deadly Slumber where Colin Dexter has one of his few speaking roles as he shows Morse and Lewis to the library where Mr Brewster is working.

This is again Worcester College.

The above is the Sackler Library on St John Street. It was used as the entrance to the fictional Portobello Club in the Lewis episode, Music to Die For.

The famous Radcliffe Camera.

Carfax Tower at the end of the High Street.

Pembroke College is on the left while St Aldates Church on the right. Pembroke College has been used as a location four times in the Mose Universe: three times in the Lewis series, Counter Culture Blues, Entry Wounds and The Indelible Stain and once in the Morse series, Deceived by Flight.

The Dining Room of St John’s College.

Kim and Lesley outside Joan Thursday’s flat from the Passenger episode.

Keble College above. Only used once in the Morse Universe in the Endeavour episode, Home. In the Morse episode, Twilight of the Gods, Keble is described by Lord Hinksey (John Gielgud) as the ugliest, architecturally, of all the Oxford colleges.

The above video is The Trout Inn. This has been used in a few episodes, most notably, The Wolvercote Tongue, Second Time Around and the Lewis Pilot, Reputation.

Entrance to Pembroke College.

The Trout Inn.

The Head of the River pub and restuarant. Used as a location in the Lewis episode, Entry Wounds. Innocent persuades Lewis to return to the police force as a ‘consultant.’

  1. thank you for the excellent photos. Here in the US, there is a service which researches used cars and gives you a report on their history and it’s called “carfax” and when I first heard of carfax tower I thought it might have been sponsored? of course that wasn’t the case but it gave me a chuckle to see the photos of the tower so frequently mentioned in Colin’s books. Also great to have the lovely Kim and Lesley enhancing the photos. Thanks again
