I have started my own Facebook page. It is primarily an extension of this website. I decided to start the Facebook page as there has been times when I have an update to a review post or some interesting news or information but it was all to small to make into a full blown post here on my website. So, come and join and keep up-to-date with all that happens in the Morse universe.

—————————————————

Hello everyone. Twitch, for those who don’t know, is a social media platform where I am stream episodes of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour. At the moment I am streaming the Lewis series. The episode streams are every Sunday at 8pm (UK). On Wednesday’s, again at 8pm, I and many others get together to discuss the episode watched on the previous Sunday.

At the moment the streams start at 8pm British Summer Time (BST). However, BST ends on the 30th October and returns to Greenwich Mean Time with clocks going back one hour. So, with the help from my friend Nate here is how the change will affect those living outside the UK and how to not be late for future streams.

Daylight Saving Time changes for October-November 2022, including the EASIEST way to be on time for the Sunday Morse/Lewis/Endeavour Twitch stream

==== Sections ====

1. Introduction

2. Text/email when the channel goes live on Twitch

3. The EASIEST WAY to keep track of *all future* Daylight Saving Time changes

4. Links (updated for October-November 2022)
4.a Sunday 2022-10-30 ONLY (British Summer Time ends)
4.b Sundays beginning 2022-11-06 (USA, Canada DST ends)

==============================================================
1. Introduction
==============================================================

I’ve set up the links for the different time zones of our Sunday Morse/Lewis/Endeavour watch (see topic “4. Links”).

The Sunday watch and the Wednesday discussion both currently start at 8PM local Edinburgh time (Standard Time or British Summer Time). As always, everything is subject to change by Chris.

==============================================================
2. Text/email when the channel goes live on Twitch
==============================================================

For those who may not know, if you have a twitch.tv account and subscribe to Chris’s channel, you can set your subscription to notify you with either a text message or an email when Chris goes live. This is usually several minutes before the hour.

==============================================================
3. The EASIEST WAY to keep track of *all future* Daylight Saving Time changes
==============================================================

There was something right under my nose for *years* before I noticed it. It’s an extremely easy way for individuals to keep track of times for Internet meetups with people in other locations, *including* Daylight Saving Time changes. If you don’t already use it, I hope you will find it helpful.

I tested this successfully in March 2022 on the Google Calendar browser app (https://calendar.google.com) and the Outlook Calendar browser app (https://outlook.live.com/calendar/). Other calendar apps probably have similar features. If your app doesn’t, I think it’s worthwhile to use either Google or Outlook just for this one appointment.

The way to do this is very simple: ADD A RECURRING WEEKLY APPOINTMENT TO START ON *SUNDAY AT 8PM* AND SET THE *APPOINTMENT TIME ZONE* to a *UK TIME ZONE.* That’s it!

Google Calendar: click on “time zone” and select “United Kingdom”.

Outlook Calendar: click on the tiny globe icon under end time and select “Dublin/Edinburgh/Lisbon/London”.

The appointment will then be scheduled on your calendar at your correct local time every week, including your local adjustments for the DST changes! We’ve had one or two people in Australia who’ve joined us, and the meetup would appear correctly on their calendars very early on *Monday* morning.

4. Links (updated for Fall 2022)
==============================================================

Here are the links for those who prefer them. All of the links provided are based on the dates of DST change for the USA and the UK. If your dates are different or your area is not listed here, the website has instructions on how you can customize the lists any way you like. All the info is in the URL, so no one else will be affected, and you can save your own custom lists just by bookmarking the pages.

An outline of how to customize links for your own location and any date and time
*************************************************************

All links referred to are the links to the site https://www.timeanddate.com/ included in section 4 of the previous seasonal Morse Sunday Watch time changes. (Those links were originally created using https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html)

1. Determine the dates for which you want to generate the links. These will normally be the dates the UK starts and stops British Summer Time. If your location switches between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time on different dates, you will need those dates as well. To find all relevant dates, use any reliable source you wish. The info can also be found via https://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/ .

2. Determine which of the links given in section 4 of the previous seasonal Morse Sunday Watch time changes include locations near your own. If none of them does, you can use any of them.

3. Use the link as-is to generate a sample list. You will be making your own customized copy of the link, so your changes will not affect anyone else.

4. Scroll down just below the list, and under “Find another meeting time”, find the link labeled “Make changes to current locations or date”. Click on it.

5. Pick the desired date.

6. If desired, customize the city list. The first city must ALWAYS be Edinburgh (it will be required later). Change any other city to one near your location, or make any other changes you desire.

7. Click on the button labeled “Show Timetable”.

8. In the column labeled “Edinburgh”, scroll down to “Sun 8:00 pm” and click on it. (This assumes the Sunday watch is still at 8 PM. If not, click on whatever the new time is.)

9. Your customized list is displayed. If you want to make more changes, go to step 4.

10. Bookmark the link in your browser. You’re done!

I hope all this helps. A huge thank you to Nate for taking the time to put this information together.
