Hello fellow Endeavourists and welcome. Finally, America gets to watch the seventh series of Endeavour. Better late than never. Good Monday Morning, Last night’s Oracle gave me nightmares about tiny slits on my palms to take blood and DNA samples. This morning I am thinking that the blood on Endeavour’s shirt reminds me of the Masonic Mysteries when Morse impetuously hus the corple of his lady friend. Whose blood is it? Time will tell. My guess is that it is Thursday’s blood.

I timed the American PBS version of Episode 1 of Season 7: 1:28:18
Timed from Morse loading the revolver to the end of the episode (not counting the tribute to Barrington Pheloung or the closing credits which are different on PBS).
The four episodes of Season 6 on PBS were 1:25:26 to 1:25:56
So the First episode of PBS Season 7 was over 2 minutes longer than the PBS Season 6 average.
Has PBS finally decided to broadcast the uncut UK episodes?
I found the episode painful to watch and I don’t hold much hope for the season. If I had been told before watching this episode there was only one 3 more episodes after this season I would have been sad. After watching this, I am ok with it ending.
The whole Violetta story line with the husband showing up? It is lazy! The whole episode seemed lazy.
Probably already remarked upon but I believe the view from the room in Venice with the Canaletto painting mimics the painting by showing the Rialto Mercato from the artist’s point of view with the bell tower of San Giovanni Elemosinario just peeking over the roof. Presumably folks who have actually been to Venice could pinpoint the exact intended location of that room…
