Listen to Laurence Fox on BBC Radio 6 Music Show: 21st November 2019.

Hello everyone and welcome to a new post. Laurence was a guest on the Steve Lamacq Show on BBC radio 6 Music. Once a week Steve invites guests on his show to listen to and rate music. He usually has a theme in regard to his guests and the theme this week was murder and crime. So, the other guests were The Murder Capital frontman James McGovern and crime author, Mark Billingham.

The show is around an hour long but I have edited it down to a manageable nine minutes. I have edited everything out that did not involve Laurence Fox. For that reason my video may appear a little disjointed but as you can imagine it took quite a while to edit and hopefully you will still enjoy it.

I have also left in the names of the artists he and the other guests were listening to. In case you miss the names of the artists I have added a list below in the order they were played on the show. Click on the names and song title to open a new window to hear the song on YouTube. The rating is Laurence’s score out of ten.

  1. Sports Team – The Races. 7/10
  2. Grimes –  So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth. 8/10.
  3. Big Moon – Take A Piece. 5/10.
  4. Pongo – Quem Manda No Mic. 7/10.
  5. The Mysterines – Who’s UR Girl? 7/10.
  6. Arlo Parks – Sophie. 9/10.

Some interesting news in regard to Laurence’s music. He mentioned that he was going back into the studio the following day, 22nd November 2019, to work on a new album and apparently he will play a few of those songs during his tour in February 2020.

He also mentioned that his new Netflix film, White Lines, will be broadcast on or around June 2020.

I’m not a big fan of Steve Lamacq but, like most of the music on 6 Music, I do appreciate that he plays a lot of music you wouldn’t find on daytime radio or in the charts. So after having to listen to some terrible music (but not all of it) and some inane chatter (the things I do for the love of the Morse Universe), from Steve Lamacq here is Laurence Fox being as personable as always.

I hope you enjoy the video. Take care and enjoy.

What is Patreon? Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy for artists and creators to get paid. It’s a membership platform that provides business tools for creators to run a subscription content service, with ways for artists to build relationships with their subscribers, or “patrons”.

With Patreon you set up how much you wish to pay monthly. There are three tiers, $5, $10 and $15. It’s like paying for a magazine subscription.

Patreon primarily uses Paypal which is easy to join and a safe way to send money. https://www.paypal.com/uk/home
