Unfortunately it is my sad duty to report the passing of another star of the Morse universe, Freddie Jones. Freddie appeared in the excellent Morse episode, Who Killed Harry Field?
Freddie was Born: 1927 and died: 9 July 2019. Freddie Jones will be mostly remembered by British fans as the star of the ITV soap Emmerdale. He was another of his generation who was a British stalwart of TV and film for some 60 years.

I have been sat here all day seeing Mr Jones’s face knowing I knew his face from somewhere, but it wasn’t until I saw your post, Did the picture fall into place and even without playing your video I can now hear his voice. I do that Toby will appear in endeavour at some point to complete the circle
The background paintings in the Ashmolean scene – I can’t get too upset with the continuity as we get to see three wonderful paintings in that one scene! Did they not notice? So completely different!
It is so wonderful that you take note of these actors who peopled the “Morse universe.” This was a wonderful role for him. And Toby is his son!!! I did not know this.
