Tony Hogarth, who played Ted Brooks in the Inspector Morse episode, Daughters of Cain, has died at the age of 72. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014.
Tony was a familiar face and a character actor on British TV and it would be easier to mention what popular programmes he didn’t appear in than what he did.
In the Inspector Morse episode he played the bully and wife abuser Ted Brooks with such elan that you hated the character as much as those around him.
As a small tribute here is a few scenes from his role in Daughters of Cain.

Just watching Home is Where the Heart is on Acorn TV in the US, and he is one of the main characters. Excellent actor.
Tony was a very good character actor and a that’s why he was a mainstay of British television.
What ever he played he played well. Well watching will be missed
