After having looked after my mum for some 11 years she is now unfortunately in a nursing home. I'm afraid her dementia worsened as did her physical capabilities. So, for the first time in 21 years I find myself no longer caring for anyone. Apart from my mum I was also a single parent to two children and also looked after my dad who had Alzheimers, (he died in 2005). So, I have decided to return to University to try and get another degree this time in English Literature. (My other degree I got some 30 years ago is one in Ecological Science. Firstly I have to complete an intensive year at college which starts at the end of August 2018. If I pass the college year I will then be able to go straight into Edinburgh University. A busy time ahead made even busier by my writing a book on the TV series, Lewis.

  1. I am having so much fun watching and listening to these posts. Thanks a million. I loved this interview. I was amazed he hasn’t watched Morse! I just had a thought – you know how we never hear anything about Lewis’ son except that he went to Australia after his mother was killed – well, it could be a cool thing to bring him into the show, couldn’t it?!

    1. Thanks Nan for all your kind comments. It is always satisfying to know that my work is appreciated. Now, as for Lewis’s son I think that chance has gone now that the series Lewis is finished. Unless he returned to England to become a police officer and was assigned to Hathaway.

  2. Now that’s genius! Perfect. And maybe his ol’ dad could come by once in a while. We can dream.
I came back to tell you that I looked it up and the first episode of Morse was on January 6. I had already decided that I was going to watch all the Morse, then Lewis, then Endeavour episodes one after the other, but I got it in my head that I’d like to begin on the 30th anniversary date. I was so delighted that it was tonight and sat right down and watched.
