After a failed attempt to upload a video clip version of this video due to copyright issues, here is the same video but with pictures instead of video clips. I got to thinking and wondering how many actors who appeared in Morse then turned up in Lewis or Endeavour, so, I put together this video. It is rather comprehensive but I may have missed someone. . It does not include those actors who appeared in Lewis and then Endeavour. Hopefully you will all enjoy the video.
New Update: First time two actors have appeared in all three series,
The two actors are Andrew Paul and Richard Durden. Andrew Paul appeared in the Morse episode, Deceived by Flight, the Lewis episode, Intelligent Design as Ron Tibitt and the Endeavour episode Quartet as Joe Dozier. Richard Durden appeared in the first Morse episode Dead of Jericho, the Lewis episode The Soul of Genius and the Endeavour episode Quartet.
Enjoyed the actors who appeared in Morse video. A great follow up would be a video showing Colin Dexter’s cameo appearances.
Hi Fran. That is an intriguing idea regarding the appearances of Colin Dexter. I will give that an idea some thought.
Thank you so very much for the wonderful Morse/Lewis episodes
which were new to me. I never tire of the Theme music, especially when the French Horns enter…..thrilling.
I do not understand blogging…is that like an extended comment?
You’re welcome Sarah and always good to hear from another Morse fan. Well blogging is really just what this page is. People create a blog for lots of different reasons. I began blogging to show my love for the Morse series and those that followed.
Excelllent work and idea, only one little detail; recheck teh actress you have as Stanza Massey ( the last reference) she is not the same of the “Remorseful Day”.
Hi Maria. Thanks for the kind words. I will have a look at the actress Stanza Massey reference, thank you.
Hi, just watched this, really well done….only one quibble, isnt Anna Massey as prof Gold in Whom the Gods Would Destroy, not pilot episode.?
Hi Sue. You’re absolutely right. Thanks for letting me know.
Hi Chris, another name for you, I just had to check…..ok, its Lucy Boynton, who was Zoe Suskin in Lewis; The Gift of Promise, and she was Petra Briers in Endeavour,; Nocturne.
Found another for you…..,( stumbled on it…) Danny Webb ;Tom Pollock in the Lewis pilot story, and Det Sgnt Lott in the Endeavour pilot…..
Thanks Sue. I will update the post a.s.a.p.
I’ve traipsed through both the blog and the FaceBook page, and could not for the life of me find the list of characters that played in both series (I haven’t watched much Lewis). James Laurenson played Tony Richards of Richards AudioResearch in Morse’ The Dead of Jericho, and Professor George Amory in Endeavour episode “Game”. Incidentally, Richard Durden – the real Alan Richards in …Jericho turned-up in the Foyle’s War episode Fifty Ships as Home Guard Commander Letwin.
Nice thoughts for Trevor Byfield… I wish he’d had more screen time, of course. But then there’s Geraldine Page who plays a salaciously wonderful wreck. :”Health, Wealth & Happiness…and leave a message, for God’s Sake!”
Don’t forget Caroline O’Neil who was in the Lewis episode “And The Moonbeams Kiss The Sea” as well as playing Win Thursday in Endeavour.
Hi Jeff. My post was about those who appeared in Morse and then appeared in either Lewis and/or Endeavour.
Thank you for the listings. I have a particular liking for seeing British performers in different roles. Most recently Gina McKee, in your list, who appeared in the Forsytes and recently in Bodyguard. Love them all and happy to see their versatility. /Delaware, USA
