Being something of lover of lists I took up this challenge in the hope it may be of interest to other Lewis fans. Let’s start off with how people died and from which episodes. The numbers in brackets after the means of death relates to the total number of deaths for that particular method.
There will, of course, be spoilers within this post.

TOTAL NUMBER OF DEATHS = 80. (103 in the Morse series)
Breaking it down by gender there have been 31 female deaths in the 33 episodes of Lewis. Of those 31, twenty-two were murdered. 58 men were murdered, There were 15 female murderers: Sandra Walters (And the Moonbeams Kissed the Sea); Babs Temple (Dark Matter); Lorraine Fernsby (Entry Wounds; Zoë/Feardorcha Phelan (Life Born of Fire); Diane Ellerby (Old, Unhappy, Far Off Things); Bethan Vickery (The Mind has Mountains); Professor Helena Wright (The Soul of Genius; Pamela Carson; (Beyond Good and Evil); Anne Sadikov (Her dogs killed so technically not her.) (Whom the Gods Would Destroy); Professor Denise Gregson (Quality of Mercy); Susanna Leland (Generation of Vipers); Ann Kriel (Music to Die For); Ginny Harris (Allegory of Love); Charlotte (We can’t be sure if it was her or her husband Vince who did the killing), (Falling Darkness); Stella Drew (Intelligent Design); Katherine Dutta (Down Among the Fearful).
