Sadly, I have to report the death of Michael Culver who starred as Maugham Willowbank in the Morse episode, The Day of the Devil.
Michael died on the 27 February 2024 (aged 85). Michael Culver appeared in many TV shows and films and was a stalwart of British Television for over 50 years. He will be remembered not just for appearing in the Morse series but also appearing the Star Wars film The Empire Strikes Back. He also appeared in many of the great and loved British TV shows over the past 50 years; Spooks, Cadfael, The House of Eliott, Lovejoy, The Darling Buds of May, The Return of Sherlock Holmes and many, many more.
Thank you Michael for being a part of the Morse Universe and making it a better place. I and all Morse fan’s thoughts are with Michael’s family and friends at this difficult time. Below is a video of all of Michael’s scenes from the Morse episode.
