Up until a few years ago I was my mum's full time carer. She died in, 2020, of Covid. At the moment I am attempting to write a novel.

  1. My condolences, Chris. Losing a parent is heartbreaking, especially under these circumstances. It’s not as easy to gain comfort without the traditional rituals of mourning. Hoping this pandemic will pass sooner, not later, so you can celebrate her life together.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. I work in the senior industry here in the US and it has been devastating to lose all of these beautiful souls. One thing has been clear is how much you and your family loved your Mum! Take care and just know we are thinking of you across the pond!

  3. Chris, my heart goes out to you and your family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. My sincerest sympathies. Take care.

  4. Condolences to you & your family. My family lost an uncle. Friends have lost relatives as well. Tough times.

  5. My deepest condolences to you Chris, and to your two children, following the sad loss of your mother, and their grandmother. After seeing you, in your video yesterday, Chris, I was hopeful that perhaps better news was around the corner. Alas, unfortunately, and all too suddenly, that was not to be the case, and I am extremely sorry to hear this terrible news about your mum. All my best wishes to you Chris, and to your family, during this heartbreaking and distressing period of time.

  6. I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I had just watched your video where you were trying to be optimistic but this virus is taking so many of elderly people. Your years of caring for your mum show your caring and devotion. My sympathy to your children who now have lost their last grandparent.

  7. This is so sad. You fought so hard for your mother for so long. My condolences go out to you and your children during this heartbreaking time.

  8. This is a very hard event for you to endure as I well know in my experience. Please accept my deepest sympathy and hopes for peace and comfort for you and your whole family.

  10. So sorry to hear about your mum. The old photo is fantastic – it’s obvious how much your mum cared for you and your brother, and you’ve looked after her so well in her later years in return. So much love flowing between you, her and your kids. Thinking of you all with deepest sympathy.

  11. Hello Christopher, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You may have seen this coming, or not, but it doesn’t make it any easier. I wish you strength, and the courage to get on with your life, and to enjoy it again and be open for new things once you have had the time and peace to deal with your loss. Take care.

  17. Dear Chris

I am sorry to hear of your Mum’s passing – whichever way it happens is sad – Still as I like to think, its not how long you are here ,its what you do while you are here!

  18. Losing someone you love is always hard. Mothers in particular, they have always been there, like the stars in the sky, it is inconceivable they could be gone. The old maps no longer serve in a world that has lost its centre.
How we cope varies, some build shrines, others make new maps.
    I wish you well.

  19. Chris, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know it leaves a gap in your life, and it’s hard to see that she is beyond suffering when you are in pain. Look for ways in which she reaches out to you from the other side. She will do so if she hasn’t already. Be well. <3

  20. What a wonderful photo – so sorry Chris – it is so hard to lose a parent (I have lost both) – my sincere condolences. Treasure your memories – they won’t take away the pain but they do help to heal.

  25. Oh Chris. I wish I could be closer, to help out with anything you might need. Having lost my mum through illness, it is certainly a mixed emotion between the sadness of losing someone you love, versus knowing they no longer suffer. Sigh. She was blessed to have you in her life. You honoured both your parents, and showed them such great respect by caring for them with love. I have no doubt they are now watching over you with fondness and appreciation. Remember the good memories. Hold onto both of them in your heart. Sending hugs from afar. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.💜

  39. So sorry to hear of your mum’s passing. I lost mine almost exactly two years ago. She was blessed with good health until a hemorragic (sp?) stroke took all that from her. She lingered for two months. I have so much empathy and sympathy for you in your sorrow. I know I am saying all this very badly; I hope you will take the intent for the action. I have found your website a wonderful resource and hope you can find solace in continuing to update it.

    1. Thank you Lynne for your condolences it is much appreciated. Sorry to read of your mum’s passing.
