The BBC Called And I Have Answered.

Hello everyone, I hope you are well.

Yesterday I received an email from the BBC. It was from a Phil Harrison who has a two hour show on Saturdays on BBC Radio Kent between midday and 2pm.

Phil has since the start of the year been running a TV Detectives World Cup. Each week he has pitted one show against another with the winner moving through to the next stage. The final of this ‘World Cup’ is tomorrow, 21st September between Inspector Morse and Line of Duty.

Phil phoned this morning and asked me put together a statement as to why Inspector Morse deserves to win the World Cup and all to be done in a minute. Phil gave me some time to think it over and called me back later.

He called me back and he asked me a few questions and I rattled off my one minute statement as to why Inspector Morse deserves to win. He of course was recording what I said and will edit and transmit it tomorrow during the show.

So, if you want to be part of the show either to vote for Inspector Morse or to phone in with your memories of the show then head over to BBC Radio Kent tomorrow at midday. Phil said the actual segment in relation to the TV Detective World Cup will start at 12:30pm and the winner be announced at around 1:40pm.

So, tomorrow you can tune into Radio Kent and hear me make a fool of myself and enjoy the show; or both.

BBC Radio Kent can be found here;

or You can listen live here:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_kent

or You can listen again on BBC Sounds for a month via this link:-  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07m0zvb

I hope some of you will manage to listen in not necessarily for me but to support the Inspector Morse show. If not I will record the show and post it here tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

What is Patreon? Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy for artists and creators to get paid. It’s a membership platform that provides business tools for creators to run a subscription content service, with ways for artists to build relationships with their subscribers, or “patrons”.

With Patreon you set up how much you wish to pay monthly. There are three tiers, $5, $10 and $15. It’s like paying for a magazine subscription.

Patreon primarily uses Paypal which is easy to join and a safe way to send money. https://www.paypal.com/uk/home

  1. Hi Chris, how exciting! I’ll definitely give it a listen tomorrow. A difficult comparison given both series are of their times but I’m sure you will have promoted Inspector Morse with great eloquence and enthusiasm! Looking forward to it. Sarah

  2. Excited for both for you to speak at the show and for me to find a new show about “Detectives”. Congrats!!

    1. It was a landslide 🙂 I will be posting the elements of the radio show that dealt with the ‘World Cup of Detectives’ sometime shortly.

  3. Great commentary on why Morse is the #1 detective, Chris. Just hearing the opening theme makes me want to watch them yet again from the beginning to end. Sad to say I don’t think there will ever be a show like that again. Violence rules TV these days.
