John Bluthal, Co-Star of Morse Episode ‘Twilight of the Gods’, has died aged 89.

Sadly another great British character actor has gone to that great stage in the sky. John Bluthal co-starred in the Morse episode Twilight of the Gods as Dr Victor Ignotus.

John was born in 1929 and died on the 15th November 2018.

Of course John is best known for starring the in the British sitcom, The Vicar of Dibley playing the quiet man Frank Pickle.

Personally I remember him fondly not only from the Morse episode but as one of Spike Milligan’s sidekicks in the Q series.

Thank you John for being part of the Morse universe. I’m sure all Morse, Lewis and Endeavour fans will be saddened by your passing.

Up until a few years ago I was my mum's full time carer. She died in, 2020, of Covid. At the moment I am attempting to write a novel.

  1. I first heard him in action as a voice provider in an old Gerry Anderson series ‘Fireball XL5’ that I watched as a young boy.almost 60 years ago! I believe he voiced the character of Commander Zero.
