Kenneth Cranham who played Cedric Downes in the Morse episode ‘The Wolvercote Tongue’ last night won the best actor Olivier award for ‘The Father’ by Florian Zeller.

Kenneth Cranham plays an elderly man with dementia who is cared for by his daughter. The play has already won numerous awards like the 2014 Molière award for France’s best play.
Of course for Mr Cranham being nominated for awards is nothing new. He was nominated for a Tony Award for Stephen Daldry’s An Inspector Calls on Broadway. He has also starred in numerous stage productions which include The Cherry Orchard at the National Theatre, The Homecoming at the Almeida and West End productions of Entertaining Mr Sloane, Loot, The Birthday Party and Gaslight.
Congratulations Mr Cranham and i’m sure all Morse fans will be raising a glass to your success.

I watched all the Morse episodes on the original run on PBS’s Mystery. I watched Endeavour in it’s original run as well. Lewis I watched on Amazon Prime. I am now watching all of Morse again on Netflix and will watch Lewis and Endeavour again when I have finished. I just found your blog a week or so ago and am enjoying your informative posts.
